Shelley Wilkin

Shelley works from her home studio in Pukekawa, taking inspiration from the stunning colours, form and textures of the surrounding landscape and home garden.

Working primarily with Bullseye glass & powders, mixing colours, creating patterns, fusing together & then using gravity formed or drape methods of slumping, Shelley is able to create unique pieces of glass.

Subtleties of Line: A gravity formed vessel incorporating a piece of pattern bar fused within the 4x3mm layers of Bullseye Glass. Slumped through a ring, rim removed, edge ground, sand blasted & oiled. Always enjoy seeing the resulting movement of lines within this process.

Blue Vessel: Gravity formed vessel using 4x3mm fused layers of Bullseye Glass & Bullseye Powders. The blank is slumped through a ring mould, cooled, the rim is removed & ground. The last stage is sandblasting & oiling to create the softness of the colours.

Merged: A fused single layer of Bullseye Stringers with sifted powder on under side, draped over a hand constructed mould.
