Marina Howey

Marina Howey is a self-taught mosaic artist. This is her first exhibition. She immigrated to New Zealand in 2004 from Irkutsk, Eastern Siberia, Russia, fell in love with this beautiful country and stayed. She started mosaicking in 2017. Lots of her mosaic work is influenced by NZ nature, native birds and plants.

The Tui Window: As a family we enjoy bush walks and bird watching. Tuis are one of our favourite NZ native birds.

Hibiscus on Matau: We honeymooned in Rarotonga and ever since, hibiscus and frangipani always remind me of our happy days there.

Fish or not to fish: This trout was given to me by my friend already broken so that made it perfect for mosaic. Recycling it was the best option to give it a second life.
